Project Summary Judith Perlinger, Veronica Griffis, James Mihelcic, Kurt Paterson, Jane Zhang of the Civil and Environmental Engineering's Michigan Tech Center for Water and Society have received an award in the amount of $599,978 from the National Science Foundation for a project titled Graduate Student Scholarships to Advance a Global Outlook of Economic and Social Prosperity that Protects the Environment. The project provides up to eighteen need-based scholarships annually to an integrated community of MS and PhD graduate students who are not only educated in the economic, social, and environmental pillars of sustainability but will also transfer research techniques and knowledge from their different graduate perspectives. This program partners with the U.S. Peace Corps incorporating 2+ years of overseas engineering service.
