John Austin is well known for his ideas about the potential of the Blue Economy, a revitalization capitalizing on the abundant water resources of the Great Lakes region. Mr. Austin will speak about Jobs and Water in the regional context at the keynote talk.

The Michigan Tech Center for Water and Society sponsors the World Water Day Poster Competition, open to Michigan Tech Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Cash prizes are awarded for the best entries in two categories:

(1) Original Research (Presentation of thesis or project research)

(2) Coursework/Informational (Presentation of coursework or literature based research). Extra points are earned if the World Water Day Theme, "Water and Jobs", is presented in the poster.
