South Range Elementary students are "rowing" around Lake Superior as part of their March Is Reading month activities. The school received the Lake Superior canvas map from the Western UP Math/Science Center.

A home-school student group in Calumet conducted a storm drain stenciling project to inform city residents that whatever is poured down a storm drain will eventually find its way to a local river or Lake Superior.
