2014 Water Festival~

Nearly 1,000 students in grades 4-8 from throughout the western Upper Peninsula flooded Michigan Tech’s Great Lakes Research Center on Thursday, October 23rd for the 3rd annual Lake Superior Water Festival. More than thirty different sessions were offered throughout the day, presented by Michigan Tech faculty, staff, students, community organizations, government agencies, authors, artists, and photographers.

South Range Elementary students are "rowing" around Lake Superior as part of their March Is Reading month activities. The school received the Lake Superior canvas map from the Western UP Math/Science Center.

A home-school student group in Calumet conducted a storm drain stenciling project to inform city residents that whatever is poured down a storm drain will eventually find its way to a local river or Lake Superior.
